Assistant Baker
We are looking for a bakers assistant to assist the pastry chef. A positive attitude, ability to work well in a team, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety are also important qualities we seek in our bakers.
An assistant baker is responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting a variety of baked goods, such as bread, pastries, desserts, and cookies. The job description and responsibilities of a baker typically include:
- Preparing Dough and Batter: Mixing and preparing ingredients according to specific recipes to create dough or batter for various baked goods.
- Baking: Operating ovens and other baking equipment to bake products at the appropriate temperatures and for the required durations.
- Decorating and Finishing: Applying icing, glazes, or other decorative elements to enhance the appearance of baked goods.
- Quality Control: Ensuring the quality and consistency of products by monitoring baking times, checking for proper texture, taste, and appearance, and making adjustments as needed.
- Inventory Management: Maintaining inventory of ingredients, supplies, and finished products, and ordering new supplies when necessary.
- Sanitation and Safety: Adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe baking environment.
- Collaboration: Working closely with other members of the bakery team, including pastry chefs, assistants, and kitchen staff, to coordinate production schedules and ensure efficient operations.
- Adaptability: Being open to working in different shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, as bakery operations often require early preparation and timely delivery.
- Other tasks assigned by management
Qualifications
High level of stamina to work to work on feet for extended periods
Follow direction and read recipes
Dedication to on-time arrival for shifts
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and carry trays, platters and small wares
Pay: 17.50 Plus Tips
